Hey A-Stackers!
We know, we know, you have missed us. But trust us, we have missed you more!
We have been obsessively refreshing our Google form, waiting for you to tell us all about yourself. But A-Stacker, you stood us up.
Okay, maybe not entirely. A few of you showed up (shoutout to you!), and we reached out for that extra oomph. But the crickets? They were LOUD! #sigh
Are we sad? A little. Are we hopeful? Absolutely!
Not all ideas kick off as fast as we would like. That was our mistake. But we are back at the drawing board, figuring out how to show up in your inboxes consistently and make this space unapologetically African.
As we work on that, we are here to ask you ONE MORE TIME:
Be our A-Mention.
A-Mention has three main goals:
Sell your publication. Paint a vivid picture of what readers will find when they step into your world. Don't hold back—give us paragraphs! Let your passion shine through.
Help readers self-select. That's why we framed it like food. You wouldn't buy a burger that's just advertised as "a burger," right? Give our audience the layers, the flavours, the irresistible pull that makes them feel like they need to be your readers.
Sell your best piece. Describe it as if you just stumbled upon it yourself. What did it leave you with? How did it stay with you? Make our readers curious enough to dive in.
But listen, don't just skim this and rush to the form with 5 minutes to spare. This is a serious date. Give yourself at least 30 minutes, an hour if you are a perfectionist.
We will be refreshing our Google form in exactly 3 hours. Will you be there? Will you be the first A-Mention of the year?
