Hey A-Stacker!
Today, I want to talk to you about something that we ALL have to do, write titles for our newsletters. I heard your collective sighs. It’s a tricky task to take on, you don’t want to be too baity but you don’t want to be boring either. You want your reader curious but that can easily become an eye roll. Where art thou the balance, writing Gods?
Out of the entire process, the titling gets me in my head a lot. Experts encourage us to have a hook in our titles whilst also bringing a sense of emotion. I hear the part about emotions, I have opened newsletters because the title tugged at my heart. So pour just enough in there and see what happens.
I guess the conclusion is add heart, truth, curiosity and fun into the pot. Stir and hope for the best.
I don’t have all the answers to the titling wars because they dribble me too, but I do encourage you to put effort in them. They tell the story before the story is read. They are the ones that find you a new reader when you share widely. They put hands on the wallet, the writing does the rest.
You’re welcome! And all the best.
Warning: If you are the type of person that cries at the end of a movie, then don’t read this article in public or at work. The twist caught me by surprise but nothing could have prepared me for the emotions that were revoked the more I read. Grab a coffee, a blanket and the best corner in your house cause
is about to shake your world. There is a loud voice in every creatives head that shouts, “You can’t do it.” It also does a great job at reassigning tasks and jobs meant for you to other people. Talented chap that one, there is one problem. The voice is a liar. I am not the only one who has caught up with it,
has clocked it too.As I read through this next piece, my brain created pictures so bright and beautiful. Then the sound of my voice followed, owning my place in this world. A reminder we all need, “Our voices are not to be muffled by people who don’t understand who we are or what we are here to do.” Thank you
for reminding us who we are.I often think about the pressure that comes with being a man and I doubt that my words will ever be enough to express it. Because women are creatures of speech, our issues make the tabloids, but men are taught silence so they just carry it all, silently. They become a source of pain by design because the scale is incredibly uneven.
speaks more about this in her letter. The running theme in this newsletter is self-growth and personal development for sure. And it’s crazy because my selection process is just picking letters off of our notes. You can’t say nobody motivated you this week,
gave you another nudge to chase the life of your dreams.Thank you for tuning in today! If you are still here, drop a tip on how to title a newsletter in the comment section. Let’s learn from each other. Until next time, byyyeeee!
