The More Things Change, The More They Remain A-Stackable
Back to bully you into quality writing and visibility.
And then there was one!
Oooops, where are my manners!?
Hey A-Stacker,
I know it has been a long time since you heard from any one of the A-Stack team members. I can explain...
Life happened.
2025 was a tough year for many of us, and we as a team were not excluded from the count. And after making it out of that tough year, Fatima, the brains behind A-Stack, took on a different path and had to bid goodbye to this space. She was gracious enough to hand it over to me.
Hi, my name is Nobuhle, and I am the new founder (feels odd to say that) of A-Stack. I was and still am the unhinged, strict, and sometimes funny one of the three original founders.
Now that I am a one-man team, so much will change because I am actively avoiding burnout.
Firstly, the library will stay alive, so if you haven’t submitted your publication, please do. Our library is for African-owned publications, and it is great for finding writers on the continent, especially when you are still trying to curate your timeline on Substack. What better way than to read their work first?
If you haven’t added your publication to the A-List, click the button below.
And because I understand that digging through the archive can sound daunting, one of our newsletters will be an A-Mention. But this year (and the years to come), we are doing it differently. The goal is to spotlight one writer at a time and give their work a shot at being discovered by fellow A-Stackers. And this is how it is going to work.
1. You will pick your favourite essay/story from your publication.
2. Send us the following: article title + 500 words from that article + your writer or publication bio + the link for the reader to go read the full story.
And I mean 500, even if the last word hits mid-sentence, the reader will have to finish the sentence in your publication. It’s kinda the whole point after all. (If you send less or more, you will owe me a dollar.)
3. Be an A-Stack subscriber. If you aren’t a member yet, you know what to do.
4. Wait for the day we post it to our 650+ subscribers.
Voila! That should get you excited enough to exit this email and go submit your story this very minute. Go!
Lastly, you will receive A-WritersTip from me every month. We make mistakes together, and we grow together as we slowly take over the world. I promise to be mean, tough, and good to you. And yes, it will still be on Thursdays at 9 am. What do you say to that?
P.S. A-Stack will be back full-time as of April 2025, and I want to kick things off with YOU in the spotlight.
Your new favourite A-Stacker,
Nobuhle

It's about time. I wondered what became of A-Stack.
You mean 2026 and not 2025. I hope that is a typo.
This is great news. I mean A-Stack coming back on.
