Why we exist...

A-Stack is here to connect African writers and readers on Substack. Our aim is to make the app easier to navigate, and to make African writers easier to find.

To achieve this, we have a few tricks up our sleeves!

The A-list

Think of this as your dictionary for discovering African Substack newsletters. There are tons of amazing African writers here, but finding them might be difficult and that’s where we come in! With this list, you can find newsletters written by Africans and they are categorised according to genre for easier navigation.

If you are an African writer and would like to get featured on the A-list, please fill out this form.

A-Mention

With A-Mention, you will submit your best work to us, and we will pass it on to our audience. Think of it as your pitch to get more people to want to read your work. We will be giving you the spotlight with a mini-interview about your publication. In one post, people will get to understand your why and get to read YOUR best work too. If you want in, here is the link:

A-Feature

Africa is a continent rich in culture, and we want you to tell the story of your roots. Paint a picture of the beauty you grew up around, the food that gets your mouth watery and the communities that raised you. Poetry, personal essays, short fiction, or research-based entries, we want it ALL on A-Feature! We will be taking pitches from African writers subscribed to A-Stack. If you have a story, we have the pitch guide right here:

A-Feature Pitch Guide

Now that you’re all caught up, please don’t be shy.

Tell your friends about us, submit, and become a part of the A-Stack Family!
