At A-Stack, we believe in telling Africa’s stories from an African perspective. This year, we are opening our platform to voluntary contributions from African writers who want to share their voices and perspectives. Whether you are a writer, researcher, poet, or storyteller, we want you to contribute to our mission of showcasing Africa in a positive and empowering light.
Who Can Contribute?
We are only accepting pitches from:
A-Stack subscribers: You must be an active subscriber to our newsletter.
Writers of African descent:
Individuals born in Africa, or
Individuals with one or both parents of African descent.
This ensures that our content remains authentic to our mission of amplifying African voices.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome submissions in the following formats:
Non-fiction articles: Thought-provoking pieces on African culture, innovation, history, or current events.
Research-based articles: Well-researched insights into African economies, technology, education, or social issues.
Personal essays: Reflective stories about your experiences, identity, or connection to Africa.
Poetry: Creative works celebrating Africa’s beauty, resilience, and diversity.
Short Fiction: Whether it’s a tale rooted in tradition, modern-day narrative, or a futuristic vision, we want it.

How to Pitch
Send a short pitch in the email body (150-200 words) outlining:
Your proposed topic and why it matters
The format (poetry, non-fiction, research-based, or personal essay)
A brief bio (2-3 sentences) introducing yourself
Submit your pitch via this form: A-Feature Pitch Submission Form. If accepted, you’ll receive further guidelines on submission.
Submission Guidelines
Word Count: 800–1,200 words for articles/essays; up to 40 lines for poetry.
Tone: Positive, engaging, and authentic.
Originality: Submissions must be your own work and unpublished elsewhere.
Format: Submit as a Word document or Google Doc.
Deadline: Rolling submissions (no specific deadline).
